Annual of Oriental research was founded in 1959 by Professor Tadeusz Lewicki (1905-1992) on behalf of the Orientalistic Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Cracow Branch. So far appeared volumes I - XXXVIII (1956 - 2002). Vol. XXIX, 2003/4 is in the printing office (to appear in 2005).
